OMP Education


While there are 33 schools offering American style Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree programs in the United States, there is only one school offering degree programs in osteopathic manual practice (OMP) in the US. Since March 2016 the National University of Medical Sciences –USA (www.numss.us)  registered in Florida, offers a 3 years Bachelor of Science in Osteopathic Manual Practice – BSc (OMP) program as well as 4 years Doctor of Philosophy program in Osteopathic Clinical Sciences – PhD (OCS). NUMSS (USA) is accredited by the US Council on Osteopathic Manual Practice Education (www.ucompe.org) and its graduated are eligible to write the board exams of the American Osteopathic Manual Practice Examining Board (www.aompeb.org). Those who successfully pass the board exams of AOMPEB can apply to the American Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners to become a full member and a Certified Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (COMP).

American Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (AAOMP) is a voluntary self regulating national organization, registered in Nevada on May 9, 2018 (certificate # C20180509-0762)   representing the interests of osteopathic manual practitioners, osteopathic manual practice as a health profession and consumer rights to safe and effective manual osteopathic care.  Our main focus is raising awareness of the osteopathic manual practice profession, lobbying, policy development, clinical quality and protecting the American public by registering and regulating osteopathic manual practitioners who join AAOMP to become Certified Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (COMP).  We are the first and only national association in the United States for osteopathic manual practitioners.
